My nursing journey is fueled by a deep commitment to compassionate, safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. I bring to nursing a foundation in biochemistry and chemistry from the University of California, San Diego, which has strengthened my clinical reasoning and appreciation for the science behind holistic care.
I chose nursing because it represents the perfect balance between science and compassion. Nursing allows me to use critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge to heal, while also offering the opportunity to bring comfort and dignity to people during their most vulnerable moments. I chose this profession because I am drawn to serve others, advocate for equity in care, and continually grow as a compassionate professional.
My future goal is to merge nursing with my previous career as a biochemist to devle into the area of genomics and personlaized medicine in hopes to contribute to the advancement of care in areas of oncology, hematology, and rare disorders. I am drawn to the unique challenges of personalized medicine where teamwork, clinical expertise, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and adaptability are essential.
This role represents the intersection of my scientific foundation, clinical training, and desire to serve patients faced with life-altering disorders. Ultimately, I hope to advance genomic therapies and accessibility not only in the hospital setting, but across underserved regions worldwide.
